My Omaha: FIlm Screening and Discussion

Join us on campus November 4th for a screening of My Omaha followed by a discussion with documentarian Nick Beaulieu and community activity Leo Louis II. Nick’s father is from Sioux City and he is excited to bring this work to our community-a place he has great affection for and memories of.

Set in Omaha, Nebraska - where the legacies of Malcolm X, racial segregation, and political division still shape everyday life - My Omaha follows filmmaker Nick Beaulieu as he documents his city’s racial justice movement while attempting to reconnect with his terminally ill father Randy, a staunch Trump supporter. As activist Leo Louis II draws Nick deeper into North Omaha’s struggle and resilience, the film becomes an intimate portrait of family, race, and the uneasy search for truth inside modern America.
