Jazz in Sioux City
Sioux City had a vibrant jazz music scene from the late 1910s through the 1960s. Jazz in Sioux City, presented by the Sioux City Public Museum’s Curator of History, Matt Anderson, will feature photographs of the places where jazz music was played and the artists who played the music. The artists include such icons of American music as Lewis Armstrong, Duke Ellington and Ella Fitzgerald, along with numerous local musicians who had long careers playing jazz throughout the Sioux City area.
