Iowa National Guard Service Scholarship (INGSS)
INGSS is a state funded program that pays schools directly for the cost of tuition for members of the Iowa National Guard. Based on annual appropriation by the Iowa state legislature, INGSS normally pays 100% of your tuition cost for classes between August and May. INGSS does not cover summer courses. Additional Requirements for Army National Guard Soldiers
The Iowa Army Guard requires soldiers to apply for federal Tuition Assistance (TA) before determining if the Soldier can receive the INGSS. Go to www.iowanationalguard.com/army-education-incentives-office/ or contact your unit Education NCO to learn more about this requirement and to set up your Army Ignited account.

Receiving Payments
Funds for the INGSS are applied to your account through the Financial Aid Office based on an eligibility roster provided by the Guard each semester.
If you reduce the number of credit hours you are registered for within the drop period, INGSS will be adjusted. If you received a refund of INGSS funds it may result in a balance due to Western Iowa Tech. For specific information about how reducing credit hours affects INGSS please contact the Western Iowa Tech Financial Aid Office.
