Lewis and Clark Jazz Festival

The Fine Arts - Music Program of Western Iowa Tech Community College (WITCC) will host the annual Lewis and Clark Jazz Festival on February 23 and 24 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Sioux City Campus, 4647 Stone Ave.

This is a free public event that provides middle and high school students from Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota with the opportunity to experience jazz music through spirited competitions.

The vocal jazz competition will be held in Cargill Auditorium, and the instrumental jazz competition will be held in the Rocklin Conference Center. WITCC hosts the event to give students an opportunity to perform and receive feedback. Trophies are awarded for first through third place in each class. Awards are also given for outstanding soloists.

The mass communications program at WITCC will provide sound support and video/audio recording services for the festival and WITCC's choirs and other music students will offer assistance for directors, ensembles, and audience members from check-in to campus guides.
