Western Iowa Tech Community College (WITCC) will host its annual Skills Day Competition on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Rocklin Conference Center, Parking Lot 2, Entrance 6.
High school students from across the region will compete in hands-on skill-based contests for scholarships. Competition areas include Auto Technology, Culinary Arts, Graphic Design, Health Sciences, Music, Welding, and more.
The event highlights career and technical education pathways while giving students the opportunity to demonstrate real-world skills in a competitive setting. Students will compete for scholarships awarded to the top finishers in each category, with $1,000 awarded for first place, $750 for second place, and $500 for third place.
"Skills Day is one of the most exciting days on campus because it brings together talented students who are passionate about their future careers," said Steven Garcia, Director of Outreach at WITCC. "It’s an opportunity for them to showcase their abilities, explore new fields, and earn scholarships that support their next step."
