Western Iowa Tech Community College (WIT) Athletics will host its first annual 1K Glow Run/Walk on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 8:30 p.m. on the Sioux City campus in coordination with this year’s WITSTOCK Music Festival. The event invites students, employees, alumni, and community members to light up the evening while supporting Comets Athletics.

The Glow Run/Walk will begin with check-in and registration in Parking Lot 2B on the Western Iowa Tech Sioux City campus. Designed as a fun, accessible event for all ages, it creates an opportunity for students, families, and community members to come together on campus for an evening of music, energy, and support for WIT student-athletes.

“Glow Run/Walk is a great opportunity for our campus and community to come together for a fun event while supporting Comets Athletics,” said Mike Brown, Athletics Director at Western Iowa Tech. “We’re excited to make this part of WITSTOCK and create an experience that brings energy, school spirit, and community involvement to campus.”

Pre-registration is $25 per person and includes a T-shirt. Day-of-event registration is $40 per person and includes a T-shirt while supplies last. Western Iowa Tech students may participate free with a valid student ID, and youth ages 15 and under are free with an adult. Free participant T-shirts will also be available at check-in while supplies last. Proceeds from the event will benefit Comets Athletics, helping support needs such as team meals, travel, tournaments, and playoff opportunities. These resources play an important role in enhancing the student-athlete experience.

Participants will have the chance to compete for prizes awarded to the first runners to finish in several age categories.

WITSTOCK Music Festival returns to the Sioux City campus on April 29 and is free and open to students, staff, and the public. The festival includes live performances beginning at 6 p.m., the Glow Run/Walk during the evening lineup, and free food and activities for attendees to enjoy.

Each participant must register individually, and all participants are required to bring a signed waiver to check-in. Minors must have their waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged.
