Four Western Iowa Tech Students Earn Phi Theta Kappa Scholarships

Four Western Iowa Tech Community College students have earned scholarships through Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, receiving a combined $11,000 in recognition of their academic achievement, leadership, service, and career goals.

The students are members of Western Iowa Tech's Beta Zeta Mu Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa.

	Sharon Roslansky \| $8,000 Sharon Roslansky was selected as the recipient of the 2026 Phi Theta Kappa Foundation Board of Trustees Excellence in Leadership Scholarship. The $8,000 scholarship is awarded to one outstanding Phi Theta Kappa student leader and is the highest scholarship awarded by the Phi Theta Kappa Foundation.
	Jana Pocovi Tosquella \| $1,000 Jana Pocovi Tosquella was selected as a 2026 Phi Theta Kappa Global Leaders of Promise Scholar. She received a $1,000 scholarship in recognition of her outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and service as a member of Western Iowa Tech's Beta Zeta Mu Chapter.
	Ashley Kotalik \| $1,000 Ashley Kotalik was selected as a 2026 Phi Theta Kappa Global Leaders of Promise Scholar. She received a $1,000 scholarship in recognition of her outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and service as a member of Western Iowa Tech's Beta Zeta Mu Chapter.
	Parker Gee \| $1,000 Parker Gee was named a 2026 Chime Workforce Scholar, joining 200 students nationwide recognized for their academic achievement and pursuit of career-focused education. The $1,000 scholarship supports students pursuing career and technical education at two-year colleges. The scholarship is funded by the Chime Scholars Foundation and administered by the Phi Theta Kappa Foundation.

"We are incredibly proud of these student scholars and all they have accomplished," said Dr. Terry Lindsay, president of Western Iowa Tech. "Their recognition reflects their dedication to their education, leadership, and service, and we are pleased to see their hard work recognized at this level."

Phi Theta Kappa is the international honor society for students at associate degree-granting colleges. The organization recognizes academic achievement and provides opportunities for leadership, service, scholarships, and career development.
