Western Iowa Tech Community College's new president, Dr. Terry Lindsay, recently visited the college's Cherokee Campus and Le Mars Center, spending time at each location and connecting with local leadership.
Dr. Lindsay began serving as Western Iowa Tech's fourth president on July 6. As part of his first 100 days, he has made it a priority to visit Western Iowa Tech's locations, learn more about the communities they serve, and build relationships with students, employees, board members, and community leaders.
Connecting in Cherokee
During his visit to the Cherokee Campus, Dr. Lindsay toured the campus and met with Western Iowa Tech Board Member Gary Jordan of Cherokee Regional Medical Center. Wendy Ivarson, Director of the Cherokee Campus & Northern Service Area, also joined the visit, sharing more about the campus, community, and local connections.
The visit gave Dr. Lindsay an opportunity to learn more about Western Iowa Tech's role in the Cherokee area and the students, families, and community partners the campus serves.
Dr. Lindsay looks forward to continuing those connections in Cherokee. Community members, students, and families are invited to a Meet & Greet with Dr. Lindsay on September 14 from 3-4 p.m. at the Cherokee Campus. The gathering will also celebrate two milestones: the Cherokee Campus's 30th anniversary and Western Iowa Tech's 60th anniversary. Guests are invited to stop by, meet Dr. Lindsay, celebrate and enjoy light refreshments. Brief remarks will begin at 3:15 p.m.
Visiting Le Mars
Dr. Lindsay also spent time at Western Iowa Tech's Le Mars Center, where he toured the location and met with Western Iowa Tech Board Member and Le Mars Chief of Police Justin Daale.
The visit provided an opportunity to learn more about the Le Mars community, local leadership and Western Iowa Tech's presence in the area.
As Dr. Lindsay continues his first 100 days, he looks forward to more opportunities to meet students, families, community members, and local leaders throughout Western Iowa Tech's service area and gain a better understanding of the needs and opportunities in each community.
