Western Iowa Tech Community College (WITCC) will participate in World College Radio Day on Friday, October 2, with a 24-hour continuous broadcast on Comet Radio, KWSR-LP 94.3. Listeners can also stream at cometradio.witcc.edu.
The broadcast begins at 12:00 a.m. on Friday, October 2, and continues for 24 hours. WITCC Mass Communications students will each take a turn on the air, choosing and curating their own programming. Throughout the broadcast, listeners can tune in for a wide variety of music, content, and conversations that showcase students’ individual interests and personalities.
As the college celebrates its 60th anniversary, student DJs will also share fun facts, memorable moments, and highlights from WITCC’s history, celebrating 60 years of memories along the way.
World College Radio Day was created in 2010 by Dr. Rob Quicke of Saint Xavier University to raise awareness of college radio and its role on campuses and in communities. Comet Radio has participated in World College Radio Day since 2017 and received the Spirit of College Radio award that year.
