As Western Iowa Tech celebrates 60 years of making a difference in the lives of students and communities, Fall Staff Development brought employees together to celebrate that legacy, invest in continued growth, and prepare for a bright future ahead.
Held October 14 and 15, the two days focused on learning, collaboration, and strengthening the knowledge and skills that help WIT continue serving students and communities. The agenda included College updates, professional development workshops, staff roundtable discussions, and opportunities to share ideas and learn from one another.
Building connections among colleagues was another important part of the two days. Employees gathered for lunch featuring local food trucks and came together for a commemorative photo celebrating WIT's 60th anniversary. In a nod to the milestone, Take 60 was also planned to encourage employees to spend 60 minutes recharging, enjoying the outdoors, and exploring the beautiful campus grounds and nature trails. Although rainy weather postponed the activity, employees can look forward to enjoying it at a later date.
For 60 years, Western Iowa Tech's story has been shaped by the people who have dedicated their time, talents, and careers to helping others succeed. Investing in the growth and development of today's employees helps carry that legacy forward, ensuring WIT continues to provide the education, training, and opportunities that will shape our communities for generations to come.
Proud Past. Bright Future.
