Western Iowa Tech alumni, current students and employees came together on August 25 for a Student and Alumni Mixer at The Coffee Spot.
Held during the first week of the fall semester, the mixer gave students an opportunity to meet graduates, grow their networks and build connections with people who once stood where they are today. Alumni had the chance to reconnect with the college, visit with former classmates and employees, and meet a new generation of Comets.
It was especially meaningful to welcome alumni back to campus as Western Iowa Tech celebrates its 60th anniversary. Over the past six decades, thousands of students have passed through our classrooms, building relationships and experiences that extend well beyond graduation. Events like this give us the chance to celebrate those connections and strengthen them for the future.
A special thanks to Lidia Garcia Perez, owner and manager of Cafela Churreria and a Western Iowa Tech student, for serving delicious iced coffees, crepes and churros throughout the event.
We loved visiting with our alumni, welcoming them back to campus and seeing generations of Comets connect. We look forward to many more opportunities to reconnect throughout our 60th anniversary year.
