Tutoring
The Comet Learning Center (CLC) offers free tutoring for students. Appointments are available but not required, and walk-ins are always welcome.
Located in the library, stop by anytime during business hours for help in a variety of subjects, including math, science, English, and more. Tutors can also assist with ALEKS prep and study strategies. Tutoring is available in person or online through Zoom. To schedule a virtual session, email clc@witcc.edu.
Tutoring is provided by both peer and professional tutors, and schedules are posted each semester. Middle and high school students who are not enrolled at WIT are also welcome after their school hours with a signed waiver.
BrainFuse
If your schedule doesn’t work for in person tutoring, you can access tutoring help 24 hours a day! Check out Brainfuse, online tutoring: anywhere, anytime.
You can access Brainfuse in the navigation menu of any course in Canvas. Every student gets 900 minutes of free online tutoring or writing center help every academic year.
With Brainfuse, you can:
- Access a live, personal session with a Brainfuse tutor in Live Help.
- Schedule a personal session with a tutor of your choice in Live Help. Select the subject then click "Check Tutor Availability".
- Submit your writing for any class to our Writing Lab.
- Make flashcards, practice tests, and games.
- Create and share notes
- Schedule study sessions with friends and meet online.

Computer Set-up/Cengage Set-up
After picking up your laptop from IT, please stop by the Comet Learning Center (CLC) located in the Sioux City campus library. We will help get your set-up completed and Cengage set up for the spring term. We are here to assist you in making the technology you receive work for you. Printing, Zoom, Canvas, Cengage whatever problem you have, we will help you resolve it.
