The City of Sioux City is planning emergency sanitary sewer repairs on Stone Avenue near Gordon Drive beginning as early as the week of September 7.
During construction, Stone Avenue may need to close while excavation is underway. If a closure is necessary, traffic will be detoured to South Maple Street.
Plan an Alternate Route
Students, employees, and visitors should be prepared to use South Maple Street as an alternate route to campus and allow additional travel time.
Please use extra caution when traveling on College roads near the Industrial Technologies building. Increased traffic may create congestion in this area, particularly where vehicles enter the roadway and traffic is coming down the hill.
Please remember:
- Follow all posted detours, barricades, and signage.
- Do not drive around construction barricades.
- Drive slowly and use extra caution on College roads.
Where is the construction?
The City’s repair area is located on Stone Avenue just east of its intersection with Gordon Drive.
The City of Sioux City currently expects the project to take approximately one month, weather permitting. We will share additional information as it becomes available.
