Electromechanical Specialist

Sioux City Campus

Program Description

This certificate is designed to prepare students to perform entry-level industrial maintenance repairs. Students will learn to identify, perform scheduled maintenance, troubleshoot and perform repairs on equipment and machines. The theory of fluid power, hydraulics, mechanical systems and electricity will be learned through lecture and hands-on lab experiences.

All students must attend the summer Program Orientation, or must meet/contact their Electromechanical Specialist program advisor prior to taking their first course.

All part-time students must meet with a Electromechanical Specialist  program advisor to develop a sequential Plan of Study prior to taking their first course. (failure to do so may result in the student taking longer to complete the program)

Students must take their program core courses in sequence, and during the same semester as is reflected on the published Plan of Study.
