Presidential Search Timeline

December 8, 2025 Board of Directors appoints Presidential Search Committee membership and adopts search timeline.  Presidential Search Announcement (Progress Report #1) distributed. PR#1 announces start of search, includes survey links and dates/times/locations for public forums.
January 27, 2026 ACCT facilitates a series of open public forums to solicit input for the development of a Draft Presidential Profile. 
January 28, 2026 Presidential Search Committee Training and Orientation - Meeting #1: Committee receives, reviews, and edits the draft Presidential Profile (1pm - 4pm). 
January 29, 2026 Board of Directors to review, discuss, edit, finalize, adopt the Profile (Special 1 - 2 hour meeting).
January 30, 2026 Position is open and advertised. The Presidential Profile is posted on the College website and acctsearches.org. ACCT conducts targeted local, state-wide, and national one-to-one recruitment.
March 2, 2026 Target Date for Receipt of Applications. Position open until filled.
March 3-17, 2026 Search Committee to review/rate confidential applications.
March 20, 2026 Search Committee Meeting #2: Discussion and selection of confidential
semifinalist candidates. 
March 26-27, 2026 Search Committee Meeting #3: Confidential interviews with semifinalists.
Committee deliberates and selects 3 - 4 finalists to forward to the Board of Directors for further consideration.  The following week, finalists announced and public bios published.
April 8-10, 2026 Finalists interview with the Board of Directors, tour campuses, participate in open public forums, and meet with direct reports and constituent groups. 
April 13, 2025 Candidate Deliberation on Finalists: Regularly scheduled Board of Directors
meeting to include Executive Session to deliberate on candidates.
Week of April 27, 2026 Board of Directors announces the next President of Western Iowa Tech CC.
July 1, 2026 Target start date for next President or as agreed upon by the President-elect and the Board of Directors.
