Job Description:

5-10 hours per week - $10.00 per hour

Students participating in the Housing Work-Study Program play a vital role in supporting the daily operations, safety, and community engagement within campus housing. To be successful in this position, students must meet and maintain the following requirements:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with front desk operations, including answering phones, emails, and greeting residents and guests
  • Support housing staff with administrative tasks (filing, data entry, room assignments, tracking occupancy, etc.)
  • Conduct routine checks of housing facilities and report maintenance or safety concerns
  • Assist with resident check-ins, check-outs, and room inspections
  • Help plan and support housing programs, events, and community-building activities
  • Monitor shared spaces to ensure cleanliness, safety, and policy compliance
  • Provide customer service and serve as a resource for residents

Work Expectations:

  • Work scheduled hours consistently (typically up to 15 hours per week)
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and positive communication at all times
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow all housing and campus safety protocols
  • Demonstrate reliability, accountability, and teamwork
  • Attend required training sessions and staff meetings

Performance Standards:

  • Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Follow all college policies, including the Student Code of Conduct
  • Maintain confidentiality of student and housing records (FERPA compliance)
  • Show initiative and willingness to assist beyond assigned tasks when needed
  • Represent the Housing Department and WITCC in a positive and professional manner

Desired Qualifications: 

Able body – position requires to travel from building to building on a daily basis, punctual and dependable.
