Western Iowa Tech Community College (WITCC) will host its annual Special Services Fair on Thursday, March 19, from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Rocklin Conference Center on the Sioux City campus.
The free event invites individuals with special needs, along with their families, caregivers, and support networks, to connect with local service providers and community organizations dedicated to helping individuals live, work, and thrive in the Siouxland area.
The Special Services Fair brings a wide range of agencies together under one roof, making it easier for attendees to explore available resources, ask questions, and build meaningful connections with organizations that provide support. Services represented at the fair include employment assistance, mental health resources, health systems, education support, independent living support, and other programs that empower individuals to reach their goals and strengthen their independence.
By bringing these organizations together in one place, the event creates an opportunity for individuals and families to learn about services they may not yet know and begin developing a plan for the future with the support of experienced community partners.
"The Special Services Fair is about creating access and opportunity," said Ben Mohning, WIT Four Plus Program Director and event coordinator. "We want individuals and families to feel supported as they explore the many resources available in our community. When people know where to turn for help, it opens doors and helps them move forward with confidence."
The event will take place in the Rocklin Conference Center, Room B174, near Entrance 6 and Parking Lot 2 on Western Iowa Tech’s Sioux City campus, 4647 Stone Avenue, Sioux City, Iowa. Admission is free and open to individuals with special needs and the people who support them.
