Western Iowa Tech Community College student-athletes were recognized for their academic excellence as the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) announced its Fall 2025 Academic All-Region honors.

The Academic All-Region program recognizes student-athletes who excel in the classroom while competing at the collegiate level. Across the conference, more than 2,700 student-athletes earned recognition during the fall semester, including over 1,700 First Team All-Academic selections and nearly 1,000 Second Team honorees.

Western Iowa Tech had strong representation across multiple programs, with standout academic performances from men’s and women’s soccer, women’s volleyball, and men’s basketball. In total, 57 of 80 Comets student-athletes across the four programs earned Academic All-Region honors.

"We’re really proud of the work our student-athletes put in off the field," said Western Iowa Tech Athletic Director Mike Brown. "Juggling classes, practices, and competition isn’t easy, and these honors show the commitment our athletes have to doing things the right way in the classroom and beyond."

  • Men’s Soccer: 24 of 35 student-athletes recognized
  • Women’s Soccer: 16 of 18 student-athletes recognized
  • Women’s Volleyball: 9 of 13 student-athletes recognized
  • Men’s Basketball: 8 of 14 student-athletes recognized

Academic All-Region Criteria (Region 11)

  • First Team: GPA of 3.5–4.0
  • Second Team: GPA of 3.0–3.49
  • Minimum NJCAA-required credit hours
  • Higher of cumulative or semester GPA used
  • All sports recognized each semester
