Western Iowa Tech has received your FAFSA information and you indicated you are or were an Orphan or Ward of the Court. Before we can process your information based on this status submit:
For orphan status please provide copies of obituaries or death certificates for your parents.
For Ward of the Court status please provide the court order or a letter from your Case Worker stating the dates your entered and left (if applicable) their custody.
Note: If you were incarcerated or adopted prior to turning 13 years of age then you must provide parent information on the FAFSA as these do not meet the Department of Education's definition of being considered a Ward of the Court. To add parent information log onto your FAFSA at www.fafsa.gov, click on "make corrections", change question #49 to "no" and follow the online instructions to add parent information to the FAFSA. They will be required to electronically sign the FAFSA with a Federal Student Aid ID (FSA ID). If they do not have a FSA ID they can apply for a one at https://fsaid.ed.gov.
Submit this information and other supporting documents (if needed) to the Financial Aid Office by email at finaid@witcc.edu, fax to 712.274.6470 or drop them off in Admissions located on campus.
