Job Description
The Student Work-Study Futsal Referee will officiate intramural futsal games on Monday evenings, helping ensure a fair, organized, and enjoyable experience for all players. This role is perfect for students with an interest in soccer or intramural sports who can confidently enforce rules and maintain a positive playing environment.
- Officiate futsal soccer games according to established rules and guidelines
- Ensure the safety of participants by monitoring gameplay and enforcing rules
- Manage game flow, including timekeeping and score tracking
- Communicate rulings clearly to players and maintain control of the match
- Handle conflicts or disagreements calmly and professionally
- Assist with set-up and clean-up of the court and equipment each night
- Report any incidents, injuries, or equipment issues to Student Activities staff
Job Qualifications
- Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study
- Interest or experience in soccer, futsal, or officiating (training provided)
- Strong communication and decision-making skills
- Ability to work every Monday night during the program (Feb 2–Mar 22, 6–8 PM)
- Ability to stand and move actively throughout the shift
Training
Training on futsal rules, officiating procedures, and safety protocols will be provided before the season begins.
