Dave Drew is a seasoned law enforcement professional with nearly four decades of dedicated service, holding an Associate of Science in Police Science from Western Iowa Tech Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration. His career is marked by extensive specialized training, including Criminal Investigations, D.A.R.E. instruction, DEA Drug Investigations, and Leadership Training from the National Sheriffs' Institute.

Throughout his career, Dave earned numerous certifications in Drug Law Enforcement and Criminal Investigations, reflecting his commitment to professional excellence. Starting in 1981, he held various roles such as patrol officer, warrants officer, D.A.R.E. instructor, School Resource Officer, DEA Task Force member, and Chief Deputy. His leadership culminated in serving two terms as Sheriff of Woodbury County, Iowa, where he achieved significant milestones.

As Sheriff, Dave was the first in 40 years to run unopposed and led Iowa’s first agency to equip correctional officers and deputies with Axon Body Cameras. He implemented a Community Policing program through Directed Patrol, enhanced training to reduce lawsuits, and fostered trust through innovative programs. His dedication to community service and law enforcement excellence has left a lasting impact on his department and the community he served.
