As I reflect on 2025 and look to the future of Western Iowa Tech Community College (WITCC), I am grateful for the people and communities who have shaped our journey. In my almost 20 years at WITCC, I have seen the power of collaboration, resilience, and shared purpose. Together with faculty, staff, students, and community partners, we have worked to support our students and expand opportunities throughout Siouxland.
WITCC’s campuses are places of learning and community hubs where students launch careers, build relationships, and strengthen our region. Partnerships with school districts, employers, and industry leaders, including the new Rick and Marla Franck Career Academy in Denison, reinforce the College’s role as an educational and economic anchor.
This report spotlights how WITCC continues to respond to community needs and workforce priorities, from national recognition of our Automotive Technology programs to expanded support for entrepreneurs through the Small Business Development Center, and to investments in facilities, equipment, and instructional innovation.
The greatest successes in WITCC’s nearly 60-year history have come from people working together across campuses, departments, and communities to help our students succeed and advance our region. I am confident in the future of this college and the community that sustains it. WITCC is proud to be your place to begin, belong, and build what comes next.
With gratitude and confidence in our future,

Dr. Terry A. Murrell
