Overview of Nursing I and II

This two-semester diploma program prepares students to administer care to patients of all ages with predictable needs under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician.
Students in the Program learn to safely manage the care of clients throughout the life span in the combined classroom, lab, and clinical courses. Critical thinking is inherent in the nursing process and incorporated throughout the Program.
The Practical Nursing Program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). Graduates are eligible to write the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN).

Overview of Nursing III and IV

This three-semester program offers an Associate of Applied Science Degree and prepares the students for registered nursing practice. Students are eligible for admission after successfully completing the Practical Nursing Program at WITCC or if licensed as a practical nurse (LPN) in the state of Iowa or compact state.
Students in the program learn to safely manage the care of clients with predictable and variable needs in the combined classroom, lab, and clinical courses. Critical thinking is inherent in the nursing process and incorporated throughout the Program. Graduates are eligible to write the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).
