Western Iowa Tech Community College (WITCC) will host its first annual Scholarship Fun Run and Bike Show on Saturday, May 13, 2017.
The public is invited in joining the Motorcycle Powersports program and its students on a fun run traveling to each of WITCC’s campuses starting in Sioux City, to Mapleton, to Denison, to Cherokee and finish back in Sioux City. Cars and bikes of all styles welcome. Registration is $25 per individual or $40 per couple regardless of the number of bikes at the Sioux City campus from 9–10 a.m. Kickstands up at 10 a.m. departing from the Gaylord Smith Building and arriving back to the Sioux City campus by 5 p.m. All proceeds from this event benefit Motorcycle Powersports scholarships.
Riders are free to take their time, ride at their own pace and grab lunch on their own. Refreshments, rest areas and tours will be hosted at each campus. Door prizes will also be given out throughout the day.
A bike show will begin at 4 p.m. on the Sioux City campus following the ride. Riders can join anytime they return from the route and the community is invited to stop by too to meet students, tour the shop, watch dyno demonstrations, and more. Motorcycle and Powersport program will also be unveiling its 50th Anniversary motorcycle build at 5 p.m. Cars, bikes and ATVs of all makes and models are welcome—if it has wheels and a motor, it's welcome!
