Western Iowa Tech Community College (WITCC) will host an Expo April 20, 2017 from 3 to 7 p.m.
The goal of the Expo is to celebrate 50 years of service and to bring the Siouxland community together. This event is also to encourage prospective students and members of the community to visit Western Iowa Tech and become familiar with the wide range of programs and services available to them.
The free public event, which will be held throughout the college’s Sioux city campus, will feature tours of campus and housing, classroom and program demonstrations, student financial and advising services, great entertainment, live performances and food. In addition to tour and activities, check out WITCC’s new display celebrating 50 years of successful WITCC alum.
Visitors to the event will have a chance to meet with instructors and see demonstrations of hands-on classroom activities. More than 30 of WITCC’s programs will be represented at the Expo. Among the programs that will be showcased are Police Science, Dental Assisting, Motorcycle/Powersports and Cyber Security.
WITCC instructors and staff will be welcoming visitors at the main entrance and providing directions and more information for the various events happening throughout the evening.
Event begins at 3 p.m. with learning sessions beginning at 3:30 p.m. that are 20-30 minutes in length. Popcorn and beverages will be served throughout the Expo. The alumni wall dedication will be at 5:15 p.m. with refreshments. Taverns and hot dogs will be served from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the Overlook Café. Visitors will also be able to register to win door prizes throughout the evening including a MacBook Air. This is setup for visitors to come and go as they please.
“The Expo will be a dynamic, varied, and informative open house,” Murrell said. “We can truly say that there will be something for everyone, no matter at what stage they find themselves in their educational journey.”
