Western Iowa Tech Community College (WITCC) will hold its 10th annual WITSTOCK Battle of the Bands outdoor music festival Friday, September 9, 2016 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the college's Sioux City campus in the Comet Crater.
WITSTOCK is a free, family-friendly event that brings in nearly 1000 attendees annually and we're excited to keep growing each year. Five bands will perform in competition for $3000 in cash prizes for the community and a panel of judges. In celebration of WITCC’s 50th anniversary, each band will perform a song from the 1960s.
The event will include free food from Tyson and HyVee prepared by Famous Dave's and free Pepsi Cola while supplies last. No smoking or alcohol is permitted but feel free to bring a cooler with non-alcoholic beverages. So bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and your appetite.
Activities will also be available for the whole family in addition to the great the music such as free kid’s inflatables, car bash benefiting Susan G. Komen, guitar raffle provided by Ray’s Midbell Music, and more. Last-minute raffle tickets will be available for purchase to win WITCC’s Chevrolet Camaro restored by our automotive programs. The winner will be drawn at the event.
Plan to come early, stay late, and have fun at Western Iowa Tech.
In the event of inclement weather, the event will move indoors to the Rocklin Conference Center, same date and time. More information about WITSTOCK is online at www.witcc.edu/witstock or contact Mike Brown at 712-274-8733 ext. 1201 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
