Juline Albert, Ph.D., Vice President of Learning at Western Iowa Tech Community College (WITCC), was named 2016 Outstanding Administrator by the Iowa Association of Community College Trustees at its annual conference awards banquet in Des Moines last night. The award was based on Dr. Albert’s leadership in advancing and bettering the college experience for students at the local level and beyond.
Locally, Albert was instrumental in developing a student success center for tutoring and counseling, instituting broad-based student activities, constructing a campus student/wellness center and suite-style, on-campus housing. Dr. Albert has also been active with internationalization efforts for the college. She created travel abroad opportunities for students and accompanied hundreds of students to many parts of the world to broaden their perspectives. By extension, she has brought nearly 300 students to the campus from other countries.
Outside the college, Dr. Albert has been active in many worthy organizations including Sioux City Community School District Equity Committee, Siouxland Cares, Siouxland Shakespeare and Riverssance Faire.
