Beltway Center

The Beltway Center, located at the corner of Highway 75 North and Outer Drive, houses the majority of the transportation classes at WITCC. Besides the popular truck driving course, a motorcycle safety course runs during summer months as well as moped safety and teen drivers ed.

This program is designed to prepare men and women for over-the-road tractor trailer driving employment. The course will consist of classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel experience in trucks currently used by the transportation industry. Areas of instruction include: *Instrument Clusters *Brake System *Operation and Inspection *Diesel Engines *Trailer Specifications *Coupling and Uncoupling Trailers Safely *Shifting Theory *Driving Techniques *Backing Tractor-Trailers *Parallel Parking Tractor-Trailers *Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations *Daily Logs By the end of the program, successful student will have an opportunity to test for their Class A CDL. Class A CDL instructional permit, driving record, DOT physical, and drug screen are required to begin the program. The ability to read and speak English is encouraged. Job placement assistance is available.
