The program raises awareness among older adults and their caregivers on how to prevent fraud, scams, and other elder financial exploitation. The curriculum encourages advanced planning and informed financial decision-making. Money Smart for Older Adults was developed jointly by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). Come learn how to be money smart and protect your money.

Description: Join Grace Linden to travel back in time as we imagine life along the Missouri River from the deck of steamboats. We will see images along the river and bluffs of Iowa and Nebraska. Using historic documents, we will learn about actual sites of steamboat wrecks and view photos of the cargo from the steamboats in musuems. Come enjoy these historic images of steamboats in their heyday.

Description: Western Iowa Tech Community College will be hosting its annual Evening Reception for Graduates. For the first time this year, receptions will be held Sioux City, Denison, and Cherokee.
The evening reception will honor the incredible achievements of our diverse learners who will go forth and continue to strengthen our communities. Every student will be presented with a rainbow graduation chord. Additionally, TRiO students will be medaled and Indigenous students will be blanketed.
This evening reception is free and open to all Western Iowa Tech students who graduated in December 2023 or will be graduating in May 2024, and their family members. Heavy appetizers, non-alcoholic beverages, and desserts will be provided.
Registering for the event is encouraged.
