At Western Iowa Tech we try to create an environment that is fun and keeps students actively involved. The information below includes some of the things we have going this year...

  • Trip to Wisconsin
    Includes a visit to the Dells, University of Wisconsin, "Taming of the Shrew" and a visit to the Chazen Museum
  • Trips to Europe
    These generally are once a year and include places such as Germany, Italy, France, or Spain and include different events each trip.
  • Ski/Shopping Trips
    Generally once a year, before Christmas break, there will be a ski/shopping trip to MInnesota. This trip will take in the Mall of America as well as great fun on the slopes as a way to relax and get ready for the holiday season!
  • WITSTOCK
    An annual battle of the bands on the Sioux City campus. This is a free event to students, staff and the community
  • WITS End
    A free concert to give students a chance to relax and celebrate the end of the fall semester on the Sioux City Campus.
  • Intramural Sports
    Includes flag football, volleyball, softball, basketball and more...
  • Habitat for Humanity
    Students and staff participate in Habitat for Humanity projects. These project can be local or anywhere in the country... wherever there is need.
  • Completion of the new Dr. Robert E. Dunker Student Center
    The new student life center will be opening in 2011 and will house a gym, weight room, walking track, several student meeting rooms and lounges, showers, activities rooms (for yoga, aerobics or other activities), and more! In addition, Student Senate offices as well as Student Activities Coordinator's office will be in the new center.
  • Various guest entertainers
    Throughout the school year we will have various entertainers ranging from comedians, musicians, hypnotists and karaoke, to name a few.
  • Club/organization sponsored events
    Various clubs on campus will sponsor events throughout the year such as a Safety Fair, or State Leadership Conference, photos with the Easter Bunny at Easter and Santa Claus at Christmas, raffles, contests, games, trips and more.
