Job Training Partners at Western Iowa Tech Community College and Iowa Workforce Development will host a free job/education/social services fair for employees affected by the John Morrell & Co. plant closure May 6 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Sioux City Convention Center. The fair is designed to inform the former Morrell employees and others affected by the plant closure about resources that will help them find new jobs and transition into new fields of employment. This event also provides an opportunity for former employees to meet with local businesses that are currently hiring. Also present will be representatives of several area colleges and social service agencies. They will provide information about a wide range of programs and services. Exhibitors have been invited to bring a bilingual representative fluent in Spanish or a professional Spanish translator.
