Strategies for Living a Simple Life Presentation Gerald Iversen, former national coordinator of Alternatives for Simple Living, will give a free public presentation Oct. 3 on techniques for living a simple life. These include participation in the Siouxland Peace Coalition and support of the Fair Trade movement.

Iowa Disaster Relief Grants Available The State of Iowa has made available Iowa Disaster Relief Grant funding totaling up to $500,000 for students who have been adversely impacted by the summer 2008 natural disasters. Eligible students may receive one-time awards of up to $5,000 for the 2008-2009 academic year.

Great Plains Radio Orwell Drama to Air The Great Plains Radio Theatre adaptation of George Orwell's classic 1949 novel 1984 which was performed live last year on stage at the Orpheum Theatre in Sioux City, Iowa, will be re-broadcast over the nine-station South Dakota Public Broadcasting network. The broadcast of this radio drama will take place on Sept. 1 at noon.
