Classes/Advising
Yes, check with an admissions advisor to determine how early you should apply for your particular program and what you need to do to have your position reserved in the program. Generally, health programs, auto tech and the veterinary assistant program fill up quickly.
The size of the classes depends on the type of class and which classroom they are in. For example, computer classes are limited to the number of computers in the lab, which is generally about 20. A lecture hall can hold up to 100. However, we try to keep class sizes to a minimum, and you will generally have about 15-20 students per class.
You have several options for getting your books. You can visit the Sioux City campus and get your books, order them online and pick them up at the bookstore, or order them online and have them delivered to you.
Visit the WITCC Bookstore at the link below. Whether you come to the campus or shop online, have your schedule handy so you know what books you need to find.

If you plan to transfer from WITCC to a four-year institution, taking Algebra I and II and geometry are the recommended math classes. Since many four-year colleges require a minimum proficiency in foreign language, taking a foreign language class in high school is encouraged. If you have the opportunity to take any general education courses for college credit through WITCCs College Now program, these classes are excellent selections. College Now offerings include Psychology, English Composition, Public Speaking, and Western Civilization.
To prepare for a career technical program, you may find it advantageous to take WITCC's College Now classes including welding, health occupations, carpentry, and auto mechanics. Taking math, English, and psychology classes are also recommended.
Basic keyboarding and computer skills are absolutely essential for all students. Follow the link below for more information on College Now and other opportunities for high school students.
